Job Description:

Lead Engineering Analyst will report to the Engineering Manager and the responsibilities include:

  1. Engineering Design and Redesign of existing product line
  2. Engineering Analysis using FEA and Analytical Calculations
  3. 3D model modifications using 3D modeling tool
  4. Coordination with designers located in India office and Houston offices
  5. Take part in product testing
  6. Interact with Project Engineers based at Houston for requirements
  7. Preparation of formal Design/Engineering Reports
  8. Preparation of FAT/Pressure Testing/SIT/Load Test Procedures/guidelines
  9. Perform self-check at various stages of execution
  10. Follow established processes in everyday work
  11. Complete the assigned task in the given schedule
  12. Record the efforts in timesheet regularly
  13. Check junior analysts’ work
  14. Suggest alternatives, optimize the component for given operation/loading conditions to get least weight/cost for the component

Supervisory Experience: Team size up to 15

Desired Candidate Profile

Education:

1.Qualification: ME / MTech/ MS in Mechanical Engineering. – First Class

2.Experience:

  • 10-15 Years in Engineering Design and Analysis in a manufacturing setup
  • Out of total experience, candidate SHOULD have Min. 8 years FEA and calculations experience in Subsea/Surface Oil & Gas
  • Knowledge of Mathcad, Solidworks Simulation (Cosmos), Hydraulics, Interaction with class societies (ABS, DNV, API etc.) and experience in Oil and Gas industry (Subsea hardware, Hydraulic Cylinders, Manifolds, UTA, Connectors, X Mas Trees, Reels, Pressure Vessels) would be a definite plus to candidate.

3.Basic Skill set (MUST):

  1. Ansys Classic/Workbench (Linear/Non-Linear (material, contact, geometry) Structural, Thermal, Modal),
  2. Analytical Design Calculations using MathCAD and Excel (Bolts, Welds, Pins, Pressure Vessels, Chain drives, Belt drives, Beams, Clamping, Reel drive, Brake, level wind, Sheave, Springs, BSC latching mechanisms, Mudmat calcs, Padeye calcs, Fatigue, working with bend radii of umbilical/tubes/hoses/cables)
  3. Solidworks (Part, assembly, weldment, BOMs),
  4. Drawing Reading and interpretation (Internal, customers’ and vendors’),
  5. MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint – professional level)
  6. MathCAD: using variables, equation solving, decision statements, arriving at conditional
  7. results, working with arrays/matrices
  8. Project processes: (Document registers, Interface register, MOMs, Customer queries/clarifications, schedule, design reviews, change management, lifecycle management)
  9. Standards/Codes:
    1. DNV 2.7-1, 2.7-3, 2.22, API 8C, API RP 2A for lifting/structures
    2. DNV RP B401 for cathodic protection
    3. API 17 D, 17H, 17G
    4. AISC Steel construction manual 13 Ed for structures
    5. ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, BPVC section 8 pressure piping calculations
